Planning a trip to Jeju Island? It’s known for its stunning beaches and breathtaking natural scenery, but to make your trip truly comfortable and enjoyable, getting your transportation and accommodation sorted is key. Based on my own experiences, I’ve put together this guide covering car rentals, places to stay, and bike and scooter rentals. Ready to dive in? Let’s get started!
One of the most convenient ways to explore Jeju is by renting a car. Companies like Jeju Rent-a-Car Headquarters are great options, as they’re located conveniently near the airport at 8 Yongmun-ro, Jeju City, right next to the SK Happiness Gas Station. They also offer shuttle buses, making the whole process seamless. Their hours are from 7:30 AM to 10:00 PM, which fits a variety of schedules.
As for pricing, during peak season, compact cars or small vehicles range from $50-$70 per day, mid-sized cars go for $70-$100, and SUVs or minivans are around $90-$150 per day. Comparing multiple rental services is a smart way to find the best deals. Be sure to check for insurance coverage and damage waivers to travel worry-free.
Looking for a place to stay close to Jeju Airport? The island offers a wide variety of accommodations to suit any preference. Booking through Airbnb gives you options ranging from quaint countryside houses to traditional hanoks, campsites, or beachfront stays. Prices vary based on the season, but typically you can expect to pay around $30-$80 per night per person for a decent place. Not bad, right?
Since accommodations fill up quickly during peak season, booking early is highly recommended. Make sure to check the proximity to the airport and nearby amenities to find the perfect spot for your needs.
For a more adventurous and flexible experience, consider renting a scooter. If you’re new to scooters, start with a 50cc model, but if you’re confident, go for a 125cc for a wider selection. Just remember to bring your driver’s license, as it’s required for rentals.
Scooter trips are best with minimal baggage, so pack a backpack with just the essentials. During the summer, don’t forget sunscreen to protect against Jeju’s strong sun. Exploring Jeju’s scenic roads on a scooter is an experience you won’t forget!
For an eco-friendly and health-conscious way to travel, try renting an electric bicycle. The Ido 1-dong Community Cooperative(Unit 107, Sangga-dong, 9 Ohyeon-gil, Jeju City) in Jeju City offers rentals at just $10 per day, including a helmet and battery. Isn’t that an amazing deal?
Electric bikes are perfect for touring the old city center or navigating nearby attractions without the hassle of traffic or parking. Plus, they’re an environmentally friendly option, allowing you to enjoy Jeju’s beauty while minimizing your carbon footprint.
Jeju is a place where every step you take can add to its charm and preserve its natural beauty. I hope you have an incredible trip, and if you have any questions, feel free to ask!
