For history enthusiasts, visiting Gyeongbokgung Palace(경복궁) is a must. Recently, I visited an ancient palace in Gangneung, and it was a truly majestic experience. Gwanghwamun Gate(광화문) in Seoul is famous for its beautiful architecture, and the daily changing of the guard ceremony takes you back to the Joseon Dynasty(조선 시대). Close to Gwanghwamun is the Bukchon Hanok Village(북촌 한옥 마을), where centuries-old hanok(한옥) houses sit among modern buildings. It’s a perfect spot for cultural workshops, tea houses, and scenic alleys. If you want to experience Seoul’s modern side, head to Gangnam(강남) or Myeong-dong(명동) for shopping, dining, and entertainment. Don’t miss the breathtaking view of the city at night from N Seoul Tower(N서울타워).

The Daereungwon Tomb Complex(대릉원 고분군) provides a peaceful and reflective experience as you walk among the grass-covered royal tombs. For a more picturesque adventure, visit Anapji Pond(안압지), an artificial pond from the 7th century, where the surrounding pavilions reflect beautifully in the water, especially at night.

Hiking Hallasan offers breathtaking views of the island along with a chance to see unique flora and fauna. Be sure to reserve your hike in advance. Another must-visit is Seongsan Ilchulbong(성산일출봉), a mountain in Seogwipo City(서귀포시) that offers a stunning panoramic view of Jeju from its peak.
